Difference between NdFeB grades N42SH and N42UH

N42SH and N42UH are common neodymium-iron-boron permanent magnet material grade, indicating its performance level and high temperature resistance characteristics, some customers do not know how to choose these 2 performance levels, the following Courage Xiaofu to point out for you.


The main difference between one: the number of temperature resistance is not the same

N42 SH and UH behind the maximum operating temperature range of the magnet, N42SH grade working temperature limit of 150 ℃, N42UH grade working temperature limit of 180 ℃!


Practical application scenarios are also different

N42SH is mainly used in medium to high temperature environments, such as high performance fans, power tool motors, medical equipment, etc. N42UH is more suitable for extreme high temperature environments, such as oil drilling equipment, high temperature sensors, and jet engine components.

Price is not the same

The cost of N42UH is higher than N42SH (under relevant size and shape), which can also be seen from the price of blank material. 


How to choose?

When choosing between N42SH or N42UH, you need to consider the actual temperature needs of your equipment, the cost, and the magnetic requirements. UH maintains magnetic stability better in high temperature environments. If your equipment operates above 150°C, the N42UH would be the more appropriate choice, while in high temperature environments below 150°C, the N42SH is more cost-effective.
