First of all, neodymium magnets, also known as strong magnets, are the strongest magnetic materials in magnetic materials. Its advantages are strong magnetic force, the size can be customized according to customer requirements, no need to open a mold, even the special-shaped neodymium magnet does not need a mold.
The neodymium magnet mentioned above is a sintered NdFeB type. In addition to sintered NdFeB, there is another type of NdFeB is bonded NdFeB. It is necessary to open the mold. If you do not want to open the mold, you can find a magnet factory with the bonded magnet specification.
Ferrite magnets, also known as ordinary magnets, are much worse than NdFeB, but they are relatively inexpensive and therefore widely used. Production requires molds, but for some of the common size magnet, manufacturers have molds that do not require customers to open molds. Injection molded ferrite composed of magnetic powder + ferrite also requires a mold, unless you can find the exact same size as yours.
Samarium cobalt magnets: mainly used for high temperature resistant products, can withstand more than 300 degrees, because the price is higher, so it is not used much. Generally, it is not necessary to open the mold.
Therefore, the magnet materials that need to be processed by opening the mold are: ferrite, even an ordinary circular ferrite is produced and processed with a mold, but the magnet manufacturer has a mold that you do not need to produce, and other injection molding ferrite Body, multi-pole ferrite all need mold processing, and NdFeB material needs mold for bonding neodymium magnets.
