During the manufacturing process, ferrite magnets must be magnetized to acquire the magnetic properties required for practical use. Some internet users have asked: How strong does the magnetizing field need to be for ferrite magnets? And what voltage is required for magnetization?
Ferrite has a relatively low magnetization threshold, and saturation magnetization can typically be achieved using appropriate magnetization equipment. In actual production, a magnetization voltage of 400–800 V is usually sufficient to meet the magnetization requirements of many ferrite products.
Specifically regarding the magnetizing field, most ferrites can be fully magnetized at magnetic field strengths ranging from 800 to 1200 kA/m. During magnetization, only by applying a sufficiently strong external magnetic field can the magnetic domains inside the magnet be fully realigned, resulting in optimal magnetic performance. If the magnetic field is insufficient, this may lead to incomplete magnetization or a low surface magnetic field.
Micro-sized Ferrite Magnets

It is also important to note that magnetizing voltage, magnetizing magnetic field strength, and surface Gauss value after magnetization are three distinct concepts. The range of 400–800 V refers to the voltage setting of the magnetizing equipment, while 800–1,200 kA/m refers to the reference range for magnetic field strength; the two cannot be directly converted.
The above explains the required magnetic field strength for magnetizing ferrite magnets. If you need to purchase ferrite magnets, please contact us for a quote and samples.
