This type of magnetic ring is usually made using injection molding or bonding processes, such as by mixing ferrite or neodymium-iron-boron powder with plastic or rubber binder and then pressing them together. The term "10-pole" refers to the fact that there are five pairs of N-S magnetic poles evenly distributed around the circumference
The key advantage of dual-plane magnetization lies in its more uniform magnetic flux distribution. Since both the upper and lower planes of the magnetic ring feature a complete 10-pole magnetization structure, the magnetic field propagates in two directions, allowing the sensor to detect clear polarity changes on either side. This resolves the issues of magnetic field asymmetry and weak signals on the opposite side found in traditional single-plane designs.

In brushless DC motors, it collaborates with Hall sensors to facilitate electronic commutation. The 10-pole design enables more frequent and smoother commutation, resulting in reduced torque ripple and lower operational noise. In servo motor encoder systems, the magnetic field variations generated during the rotation of the magnetic ring are detected by multiple sensors. Through signal processing, high-resolution angular information can be obtained, supporting precise position control and speed feedback. Smart door locks, robotic joints, medical equipment, automotive steering systems, and many other applications utilize this type of magnetic ring as a position sensing component.
