This is because injection-moulded magnets are largely bespoke products; dimensions, number of poles, magnetisation methods, material formulations and precision requirements all vary. If a manufacturer lacks experience or does not have ready-made moulds, both the development cycle and costs will increase significantly. Consequently, for common applications such as injection-moulded magnetic rings for motors, encoders, sensor magnets and plastic-magnet rotor rings, many customers prefer to work directly with magnet manufacturers that have proven track records and moulds in stock. This not only speeds up the quotation process but also facilitates prototyping.

Currently, injection-moulded magnets on the market mainly fall into two categories: injection-moulded ferrite and injection-moulded neodymium-iron-boron. Both can be magnetised according to product requirements, including single- or double-sided axial multi-pole magnetisation, radial multi-pole magnetisation, and oblique-pole magnetisation. For common ring specifications, such as those with outer diameters of 9.5 mm, 18 mm, 25 mm, 40 mm and 59 mm, we have accumulated a significant number of ready-made moulds, which can save on tooling costs and reduce prototyping lead times.
